Ruby SLR Gullwing

The abbreviation SLR stands for S, meaning Class S; L, meaning Luft (the German word for “air”); and R, meaning Ruby. The German term “Gullwing,” on the other hand, refers to a glider.

The first thing that catches your eye when you look at this insole is its housing, which lacks an outer shell. Comparisons immediately come to mind with the iconic GLIDER model, which for many years set the standard for quality among mid-range cartridges. The SLR GULLWING’s design draws inspiration from that model, but the solutions it incorporates place it far above its famous predecessor. The SLR GULLWING is essentially a continuation of the RUBY OPEN AIR model, which was also hugely popular among users. The GULLWING incorporates many of the design features found in the RUBY and LP S models. The brass body is identical to that of the flagship LP S. The Micro Ridge stylus, which ensures optimal tracking along the record groove, is derived from the RUBY.The cantilever is a boron rod with a diameter of 0.28 mm, providing very rigid transmission of the stylus’s movement without uncontrolled vibrations. The coil and neodymium magnet are also sourced from RUBIE. Of course, the entire transducer is manufactured on-site in Neuhausen, which makes it possible to achieve the optimal magnetic properties required for such a precision design as the vibration system used in BENZ MICRO products. Strict adherence to this process allows for the production of a coil that has virtually no inertia in a magnetic field. The result is a system that perfectly converts the needle’s vibrations into an electrical voltage.
