DRT XV-1 S
DV – XV-1s
Low output level—0.3 mV. Boron bridge. Magnetic flux attenuation. Alnico magnet
The XV-1 is a cartridge that draws on the full range of knowledge and experience of Dynavector’s engineers. As a result, they have succeeded in designing a system that guarantees the maximum amount of information extracted from a vinyl record. The combination of top-tier materials and precision craftsmanship has resulted in a sound that is the very essence of musicality. The cartridge’s sound quality and craftsmanship were recognized by the editors of Absolute Sound magazine, which awarded it the “Golden Ear Award” in 2001.
The magnetic circuit consists of 8 ALNICO magnets divided into two sections. A special field corrector is used in the magnetic gap, and additional stabilizing coils are wound on the front yoke. Compared to conventional designs, this configuration provides a more compact and linear magnetic flux. The result is very deep and precise bass, detailed treble, and excellent channel separation. Distortion levels have also been reduced, particularly third-harmonic distortion. The new XV-1s model incorporates proven designs and combines them with the best materials currently available. The stylus features a Pathfinder Line Contact cut with a cross-section of 0.14 x 0.08 mm and is mounted on a boron cantilever that is 6 mm long and 0.3 mm in diameter. The coils, with an impedance of 6 Ω, are wound with 30 Ω-gauge PCOCC copper wire. To improve comfort and safety, the cartridge is equipped with a needle guard.
