Te Kaitora Rua

DV – Te Kaitora Rua
Low output level—0.26 mV. Titanium body. Magnetic flux attenuation. Alnico magnet

The Te Kaitora was the result of a collaboration between Japanese and New Zealand engineers at Dynavector. It earned widespread acclaim from both users and reviewers, particularly for its “…velvety sopranos and natural sound…”. Its second iteration, named Te Kaitora Rua (Te Kaitora means “to discover” in Māori, and Rua means “second incarnation”), features several new innovations that enable even greater fidelity in sound reproduction. The new titanium pickup body immediately catches the eye. This design choice is intended to maximize the rigidity of the entire structure, thereby improving the performance of the entire mechanical system. The magnetic assembly, consisting of Alnico magnets, is secured to the yoke with miniature screws, which further reinforce its rigidity. The linearity of the magnetic flux has been improved using specially profiled elements in the front yoke and the armature. The coils are wound with silver wire. The needle features a Pathfinder grind and is mounted on a support made of a boron rod 6 mm long and 0.3 mm in diameter.
