The TB-100 is equipped with carefully selected ECC82 (12AU7) tubes, matched to a quarter-tone, and optimized specifically for this model. Thanks to its internal circuitry, operational fluctuations are minimized to 1% (0.1 dB), ensuring peak performance. Each channel features an input tube for voltage amplification and an output tube for output buffering, delivering a rich, transparent sound. In addition, the amplifier uses a simple two-stage amplification circuit combined with low-impedance output stages featuring a cathode follower to deliver a clean and dynamic audio experience.
The audio signal from the PD is converted to a current-to-voltage signal, ensuring precise phase alignment between the left and right channels. Furthermore, the design achieves a flat frequency response within -1 dB over a wide range from 10 Hz to 70 kHz, ensuring a clear and high-quality sound.
A symmetrical twin-mono configuration was used, featuring completely independent grounding and power transformers. This design eliminates crosstalk between the left and right channels, enabling a cleaner and more immersive soundstage.
A dedicated, low-noise, regulated
power supply for the LED and the PD’s negative bias voltage. Separate
power circuits and transformers for each PD ensure greater
voltage stability for the cartridge.
