THE PICKUP

The Pickup represents thirty years of experience
behind its creator, Volker Bohlmeier. Refined in
every detail, from the housing through the magnetic system to the needle’s grind.
All of this was brought to life thanks to a meeting between Volker
Bohlmeier and Leif Johannsen, Ortofon’s chief designer, as
that company is responsible for manufacturing this cartridge.

After producing several dozen
prototypes and spending many hours listening and testing with various
turntables and tonearms, The Pickup was born. Its passionate
sound brings vitality, precision, and tangibility to the system.
Excellent tonal balance and a smooth, emotionally rich midrange
ensure that voices are reproduced with exceptional realism. The bass is deep,
tight, and perfectly controlled, providing an ideal foundation for the sound.

The high frequencies are delicate and sparkling, without a hint of harshness. The housing,
made of duralumin, ensures adequate rigidity and damping
of resonances, while the “generator” and the Nude Shibata-cut stylus
faithfully reproduce what is etched onto the vinyl. 

     The Pickup is the perfect complement to any,
even the most sophisticated, analog system.
