Schröder CB Tonearm

The Schröder CB is a tonearm that brings a designer’s vision to life with extraordinary sensitivity and expertise. Previously manufactured under license by Artemis Labs as the TA-1 model, Frank Schröder personally took control of and oversaw the production of these tonearms, which are now manufactured by Thrax Audio. This has allowed for increased production, thereby reducing the wait time for the tonearm without compromising quality. Thrax Audio has excellent production facilities and is capable of meeting the high standards required for this project. The tonearm’s bearing system is traditional. It uses hybrid ceramic bearings with an ultra-low coefficient of friction: 2 mg vertically and 3.5 mg horizontally. The tonearm also features a horizontal damping system. The system, which operates very gently, is implemented using magnets. Thanks to the tonearm’s design, parameters such as height and azimuth can be adjusted within a highly precise, repeatable range. The tonearm does not have a traditional headshell. The cartridge is screwed onto a mounting plate, which is in turn attached to the tonearm tube with a single screw. The plates can vary in weight, which allows for use with a wide range of cartridges. The tonearm tube is available in carbon or wood, although the construction of this section is slightly more complex. The wiring runs in a single section, from the cartridge to top-quality RCA plugs. The tonearm is characterized by exceptional precision and naturalness. The sound it produces is spacious, musical, and detailed. The sound of music played through a system featuring the CB tonearm can only be described as pure magic—a quality that makes Schröder products among the most sought-after in the field of analog music reproduction.
