Lyra

The designs by Thrax Audio’s engineers are intended to uncompromisingly combine the highest-quality materials with innovative engineering. The Lyra represents another step toward creating devices that embody this idea. Floor-standing speakers are the final stage of sound reproduction. Their importance to the system’s final sound is unquestionable. The Thrax Lyra speakers make skillful use of the latest technological advances to deliver a sound that is highly precise and accurate, yet not lacking in expressiveness and musicality.
The 165-mm low-midrange drivers operate in tandem. The first-order crossover divides the frequency range at 1.5 kHz. Above this threshold, the ring-diaphragm tweeter takes over, working in conjunction with a horn featuring a variable directivity pattern designed by Spherovox.
The enclosure is made of thick, milled aluminum panels that are perfectly fitted together and securely bolted. The bass reflex port is also made of aluminum. The individual speaker terminals are from the Japanese brand Frutech. Dedicated 80-cm-tall stands, also made entirely of aluminum, are available as an option.
