Silver Bullet is a pair of tube-based, monophonic power amplifiers with a fully symmetrical design. Their defining feature is the absence of an output transformer, hence the name OTL (Output Transformer Less). This design allows for a level of precision and “speed” unmatched by other designs. Built on 12 years of experience working with its predecessor—The Final Cut—the Silver Bullet is a refinement of that concept, taking it to an even higher level. The original OTL amplifier design has been retained to reproduce the unique performance of this circuit. The greatest advantage of this solution is the ability to connect a speaker directly to the power tubes.As a result, there is no output transformer to limit performance or signal quality. Excellent frequency response, bandwidth, and phase linearity are the key elements contributing to the remarkable musicality that this design delivers. Silver Bullet circuits are fully balanced, ensuring the best possible signal-to-noise ratio. To ensure a clean and natural sound, the shortest possible signal path has been used here. Performance is guaranteed by a “parallel push-pull” circuit operating in Class A. Amplification is provided by four 6C33C triodes, commonly known as “little devils.” The control tubes are PCC88s, which feature exceptionally linear characteristics. The power supply has been designed to ensure the full performance and operational stability of the entire device. The safety of the connected speakers has not been overlooked. The advanced protection circuit protects the speaker in the event of a tube failure. All these measures have resulted in an amplifier with a high damping factor, low distortion, and dynamics free of compression and artifacts.
