Since its introduction in 1991, the CEC belt drive has been the constantly improved heart of every drive produced by the company. The latest version of this technology, developed based on the CD5 player, has taken the form of a new drive—the TL-5.
In order to read the signal recorded on a CD, it is necessary to gradually slow down the rotation speed as further sections of the disc are read.
In the TL-5, the tonearm is driven individually by a belt, which minimizes the transmission of vibrations and electromagnetic interference to the disc. A heavy CD stabilizer ensures stable and smooth rotation of the platter and the disc. The low-torque motor, positioned away from the axis, provides the ideal foundation for faithful music reproduction. By positioning the turntable platter’s spindle right in the center of the top-loading drawer, the belt can also be easily replaced if necessary.
The TL-5 is equipped with AES/EBU, COAXIAL, and TOSLINK digital outputs. The shortest possible signal path and signal stability have been maintained by placing all connectors directly on the printed circuit boards.
The device’s aesthetic appeal is enhanced by a high-quality display with adjustable brightness levels and a classic, beautifully crafted housing made of silver anodized aluminum.
