Many years of experience in manufacturing top-of-the-line phono cartridges, collaboration with numerous outstanding designers, and the proverbial “Swiss precision” have made it possible to create a cartridge that sets a new standard in analog record playback.
According to many experts, the most important component in a cartridge’s design is the stylus itself. In the case of the EBONY, it is called the Micro Ridge. Its shape has been contoured to ensure maximum tracking precision. This was made possible by a special diamond-cutting technology that allows for a profile measuring 5 x 120 µm. The stylus is mounted on a cantilever made of a boron rod with a diameter of 0.28 mm. The entire operation is performed under a high-powered microscope in a dust-free environment. The ultra-low-mass, ultra-rigid tracking system produced through this process delivers exceptional resolution, linearity, and outstanding dynamic range. The ebony wood housing prevents unwanted resonances from occurring within the cartridge’s structure.
All these elements combine to create a unique sound that defies traditional rating scales. EBONY offers a sound that is the quintessence of musicality. This single word best captures the nature of this cartridge, which is undoubtedly an exceptional choice for the most discerning music lovers.
The EBONY TR cartridge, designed to work with output signal amplifying transformers, is also available.
