Ruby Z

Many years of experience in manufacturing top-of-the-line phono cartridges, collaboration with numerous outstanding designers, and the proverbial “Swiss precision” have made it possible to create a cartridge that sets a new standard in analog record playback.
The key feature that distinguished RUBIE from other cartridges was the coil design. It was constructed by cross-winding the coils onto a ruby core. This design halved the mass of the moving assembly compared to conventional systems. As a result, losses resulting from the lack of ideal magnetic flux polarization were eliminated. Inertia was also reduced, and dynamics were improved. This was what the first version of the cartridge looked like.In keeping with the company’s tradition, a second version with a higher output level—named RUBY Z H—was released some time later. This time, the coil incorporated a material called Hybrid Magnet, which contains boron, neodymium, and iron. This material possesses excellent magnetic properties, but its practical application is limited to a narrow group of the most technologically advanced designs that use very strong H-shaped magnets.
The new version of the MicroRidge stylus ensures maximum tracking precision, high resolution and consistency in music reproduction, linearity, and exceptional dynamics. This was made possible by the use of a special diamond-cutting technology. The stylus is mounted on a cantilever made from a boron rod with a diameter of 0.28 mm. The entire operation is performed under a high-powered microscope in a dust-free environment. The tracking system produced through this process is characterized by ultra-low mass and very high rigidity. In this new version, the housing is made of Zebrano wood, which is highly effective at damping unwanted resonances in the cartridge’s structure.
All these elements combine to create a unique sound that defies traditional rating scales. RUBY Z offers a sound that is the quintessence of musicality. This single word best captures the nature of this cartridge, which is undoubtedly an exceptional choice for the most discerning music lovers.
Currently, even the low-output version features a coil wound on a Hybrid Magnet core.
