ES-002

The purpose of a turntable clamp is to stabilize the record and dampen parasitic vibrations and resonances. Some achieve this through mass, while others do so by selecting the right materials. Manufacturers equip them with spirit levels or stroboscopes and other more or less useful accessories.
What if a turntable clamp could help us eliminate record eccentricity?

IIf you look closely, almost every record has a hole that’s more or less “crooked.” Years ago, Nakamichi produced the Dragon CT turntable, which first “measured” the record, made corrections, and… and DS Audio created a tonearm that does the same thing. The ES-002, mounted on the turntable’s spindle, measures whether the innermost groove is centered relative to it. We then make the necessary adjustments, and the record is centered. This has a clearly audible effect on the sound. It becomes more organized, and there is no longer any audible wavering, especially in the decay and “long notes.”
