M2-R SERIES

The M2-R series utilizes technical solutions that are well-known and have long been used by SME, and it pays homage to vintage audio enthusiasts. It draws inspiration from the highly popular and highly regarded 3009 and 3012 models. It works perfectly with a very wide range of cartridges, particularly those with medium and low compliance. The tonearm is available in two lengths—9 and 12 inches.The arm tube is made of steel. The arm head is made of aluminum in a design that provides the body with high rigidity and low weight. The “Concorde” mount ensures a precise and rigid hold on the arm, and allows for azimuth adjustment and quick disassembly. The arm base allows for precise height adjustment. The anti-skating system is based on a tried-and-true design that uses a string with a weight attached to one end. Optionally, the arm can be equipped with an oil-based vibration damping system (FD-M2). The damping operates in both planes and can be adjusted to achieve optimal performance. The arm is equipped with high-quality bearings that allow for smooth movement in two planes—applying a force of just 0.02g is enough to cause it to swing.
