The Berlina RC 9 is the company’s response to the needs of people who want an uncompromising speaker in their systems but don’t have a large listening room. Just like in the flagship Model 11, it features ceramic and diamond drivers from the German company Accuton. A 50mm diamond midrange driver is also used as standard here. The similarities don’t end there. The 9 is also a four-way system. The crossover, with a very steep slope (>50dB/oct), features a symmetrical design. Only the highest-quality components were used in its construction. Throughout the entire Berlin series, the enclosure is constructed from individual 50-mm-high ribs cut on CNC machines. To prevent the transmission of vibrations, each component is isolated by a 3-mm spacer made of a soft, vibration-absorbing material. To increase rigidity, the ribs vary in thickness between the rear and front sections, and some feature additional reinforcement in the form of a transverse cross brace. The ribs are fastened together with long bolts. The entire structure rests on three massive cones and a granite base.
