BERLINA RC 11
The Berlina RC11 is the flagship model in Gauder Akustik’s lineup. It features ceramic and diamond drivers manufactured
by the German company Accuton. This is one of the few speakers in the world to feature a 50mm diamond midrange driver as standard equipment. It is a four-way design. The crossover, with a very steep slope (>50 dB/oct), is a symmetrical design. Only the highest-quality components were used in its construction. The speaker cabinet consists of three modules: two bass modules and one
in which the midrange and tweeter drivers are mounted, along with the driver responsible for reproducing the mid-bass.
The woofer modules are stacked one on top of the other, separated by seven columns. A “midrange-tweeter” module is inserted into the space between them. To prevent vibrations from being transmitted from the lower module, the upper module was placed on spikes and special pads. As in the RC 7 model, the individual modules were made from single 50-mm-high ribs cut on CNC machine tools.To prevent the transmission of vibrations, each component is isolated by a 3-mm spacer made of a soft, vibration-absorbing material. To increase rigidity, the ribs vary in thickness between the rear and front sections, and some feature additional reinforcement in the form of a transverse cross brace. The ribs in each module are fastened together using long screws. The entire structure rests on three massive cones and a granite base.
The Berlina RC 11 is the only speaker in the world to have achieved the maximum score (70 points) for sound quality in a test conducted by the German magazine Stereoplay.
